Biomedical & Clinical Engineers who are members of BEAI are eligible to enter any of the Health Technology Innovation Awards being hosted by Health Tech Ireland on 25th November 2021. 

Entries can be as individuals or as part of a research group, multidisciplinary team or hospital project. We have had entries from hospitals previously including Tallaght, the Mater, Rotunda, Our Lady of Lourdes Drogheda, the Royal Hospitals Group in Belfast, Cork University Hospital, so if your hospital is working on innovation, be it process or innovative tech, talk to your team and consider entering an applicable category.

It is important to promote and highlight the importance of Biomedical Engineering personnel in advancing the science, technology, ethics and art of Biomedical Engineering and to facilitate co-operation and understanding with industry and other healthcare professionals.

 

CLINICAL ENGINEERING HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT AWARD 2021

HealthTech Ireland are adapting the award criteria of the BEAI sponsored Clinical Engineering Healthcare Technology Support Award this year to facilitate greater participation from hospital-based clinical engineering professionals in recognising excellence from industry.

Hospital based (non-corporate) BEAI members will be asked to nominate HealthTech Ireland members who provide excellent support services for equipment, medical devices and other health technologies being used in their hospitals, using the following criteria;

1. Responsiveness: time to resolution of issue;

2. Technical knowledge and expertise;

3. Clinical-technical knowledge;

4. Suitability of documentation: format, timeliness, comprehensiveness;

5. Patient-focus;

6. Understanding client needs;

7. Innovative solutions orientation;

8. Value for money

Based on BEAI member feedback, the top three HealthTech Ireland technical services providers for 2021 will be announced at the gala dinner and awards celebration on the night with the overall winner receiving the top prize.
