A sincere thank you to U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, Edward Sharp Walsh, for hosting HealthTech Ireland, our Board, and key stakeholders at the U.S. Residence in Phoenix Park, as part of the Freedom 250 series, featuring an address from Jim O’Neill, 26th Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services, sharing U.S. perspectives on advancing science and health innovation.
At a time of ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, the value of strong international partnerships across the health and innovation ecosystem has never been greater. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a shared commitment to progress are essential as we work to strengthen our health systems and deliver for patients.
Ireland’s highly skilled workforce continues to underpin this partnership, enabling both countries to advance innovation and improve outcomes domestically.
A next step in deepening our understanding of innovation in Ireland will bring us, alongside our public sector colleagues in the National Health Collaboration Council (NHCC), to the Stryker Innovation Centre in Cork. This visit will showcase the scale of innovation happening in Ireland, with a shared ambition to deliver medical products, solutions, and services developed in Ireland to Irish patients as and when they need them.
