HealthTech Ireland were proud to attend the launch of the National AI Strategy for Care with the Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD, together with Damien McCallion, Deputy CEO and Chief Technology and Transformation Officer and Prof Peter McMahon, Consultant Radiologist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, a significant moment for Ireland as we move toward safer, more connected and more effective care.
Through the National Health Collaboration Council with the Health Service Executive (HSE), HealthTech Ireland continues to represent our members on the HSE’s AI for Care Strategy Working Group. Members play a key role in ensuring that their collective insights are represented, with meaningful opportunities provided for them to contribute throughout the process.
The strategy places strong emphasis on governance, with the Minister highlighting HIQA – Health Information and Quality Authority’s role. HealthTech Ireland proudly represents members on HIQA’s AI Group, supporting collaborative, evidence‑based deployment of AI to improve patient care.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this important milestone. This strengthens our ability to collectively deliver evidence based, efficient and high‑quality care for every patient in Ireland.
